The news has been grim lately. Sales are down, unemployment is up, foreclosures, inflation, recession and the list goes on. But I would ask you (my dear loyal reader…patient too, considering how often I have posted recently) to take the opportunity to thank God for what He’s blest you with. Whether or not you believe in or celebrate Christmas, we all have something to thankful for: life, love, and more than likely a working Internet connection if you’re reading this. So take some time out, hug your spouse, kids (if you have any), maybe even your dog or cat, and say a quick prayer of thanks!

I would like to thank all the veterans for their service today. With all the political wrangling lately, it’s easy to forget that those folks are still out there putting their lives on the line for us every day all over the world. And I know I appreciate their sacrifice.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s Friday! Yet another week has raced past us and here are some random thoughts.

This week has been a stressful one for anyone following the economy, so for a little relaxation and rest, take a deep breath, smell some flowers and enjoy the weekend. God is good, no need to worry!

The cool weather of fall has hit, which reminds me, I need to get my snow tires ordered and my snowmobile tuned up!

Some if you may or may not know, but I have been in the middle of a total remodel of my basement. And this week we got all the windows installed. It’s a good feeling to have that done before the cold hit.

I’m bacheloring it this next week. Julie’s headed off to class. Y’all should wish her luck. She’s been reciting nerve stuff all week in preparation. Mumbo jumbo to me!
